Treatment Overview

At The Face Institute, we are excited to introduce the O-Shot®, a revolutionary platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment designed to enhance female sexual wellness, improve vaginal sensitivity, and promote overall intimate health. This non-surgical, natural approach uses growth factors derived from the patient’s own blood to rejuvenate vaginal tissue, increase blood flow, and restore optimal function.

The O-Shot® is ideal for women experiencing reduced libido, vaginal dryness, mild urinary incontinence, or a decline in sexual sensation due to aging, hormonal changes, or postpartum recovery. Backed by clinical research, this treatment provides a safe and effective way to support intimate health without hormones, medications, or surgery.

How the O-Shot® Works

The O-Shot® harnesses the power of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is extracted from the patient’s own blood and injected into specific areas of the vaginal and clitoral tissues. PRP contains high concentrations of growth factors that stimulate cellular regeneration, collagen production, and improved circulation, leading to enhanced sensation, increased lubrication, and overall improved sexual function.

Step 1: Blood Draw and PRP Preparation

A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm and processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. This PRP is then prepared for injection.

Step 2: Numbing and Injection

A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort. An injectable lidocaine is also an option for a pain-free experience. The PRP is then carefully injected into the clitoral and vaginal area, where it begins stimulating tissue regeneration and increased blood flow.

Step 3: Tissue Rejuvenation and Sensory Enhancement

Over the following weeks, the PRP stimulates cellular renewal, leading to increased sensitivity, improved vaginal lubrication, stronger orgasms, and enhanced overall intimate wellness.

Scientific Credentials and Studies on the O-Shot®

The O-Shot® is supported by multiple clinical studies demonstrating its effectiveness in treating female sexual dysfunction and vaginal health concerns. Research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine has shown that PRP therapy can increase blood vessel growth and nerve regeneration in vaginal tissues, leading to improved sensitivity, better arousal response, and reduced discomfort during intercourse.

A 2022 clinical study found that 75% of women who received the O-Shot® reported a significant improvement in libido, lubrication, and orgasm intensity, with results lasting up to 12 months. Additional studies have highlighted PRP’s role in reducing mild urinary incontinence and improving vaginal elasticity in postmenopausal women.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a Good Candidate for the O-Shot®?

  • Women experiencing decreased sexual sensitivity or difficulty achieving orgasm
  • Those struggling with vaginal dryness or discomfort during intercourse
  • Women with mild urinary incontinence or bladder leakage
  • Postpartum and postmenopausal women looking to restore intimate wellness
  • Individuals seeking a natural, non-hormonal approach to sexual health

How soon will I feel results?

Some women report enhanced vaginal lubrication and sensitivity within just a few days of receiving the O-Shot®. However, full benefits typically emerge over four to six weeks as PRP stimulates natural collagen and tissue regeneration. Improvement in orgasm intensity, arousal, and overall intimate comfort continues to develop gradually. Results can vary based on individual health, hormone levels, and treatment goals.

Most patients find results become more noticeable around the 4-week mark. Following your provider’s post-treatment recommendations can enhance your outcome. A second treatment may be recommended 6–12 months later depending on your goals.

Is the O-Shot® painful?

The O-Shot® is generally well-tolerated and not considered painful. A strong topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize any discomfort during the injections. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild pinch or pressure, lasting only a few seconds. The entire procedure takes about 20–30 minutes from start to finish.

There’s no downtime, and patients can resume normal activity right after. Mild sensitivity or swelling may occur but typically resolves within 24 hours. If you're nervous, your provider can walk you through each step.

How long do results last?

Results typically last around 12 months, but many women report continued benefits for up to 18 months. Longevity varies depending on individual healing response, age, hormonal balance, and lifestyle. For best results, many patients choose to repeat the treatment annually.

Maintaining pelvic health through exercise, diet, and sexual activity can extend your results. Your provider may suggest pairing with other wellness treatments like Morpheus8 or hormone therapy. Follow-up visits help track progress and determine if touch-ups are needed.

Can the O-Shot® help with urinary incontinence?

Yes, PRP therapy from the O-Shot® can improve mild stress urinary incontinence. It strengthens the vaginal and urethral tissues, supporting better bladder control. Many women experience fewer leaks during activities like laughing, sneezing, or working out.

While it’s not a replacement for pelvic floor therapy, it works well as part of a holistic treatment plan. Results may take several weeks to appear, and multiple sessions may be recommended. Discuss your specific symptoms with your provider to create a personalized plan.

Can this treatment be combined with other intimate wellness procedures?

Absolutely. The O-Shot® pairs well with other vaginal rejuvenation treatments like Morpheus8, pelvic floor therapy, and hormone optimization. Combining therapies enhances overall vaginal tone, lubrication, sensation, and bladder control. It's ideal for women navigating menopause, postpartum recovery, or age-related changes.

A customized treatment plan ensures your concerns are addressed holistically. Be sure to discuss your goals and any current treatments with your provider. Together, you can design a powerful plan for intimate wellness.

Who is a good candidate for the O-Shot®?

Women experiencing decreased sexual satisfaction, dryness, pain during intimacy, or mild incontinence may benefit from the O-Shot®. It's also a great option for postpartum recovery or age-related hormonal changes. Most healthy women are eligible for treatment, though a consultation is required to confirm suitability.

Those with autoimmune issues or blood disorders may not qualify. If you're unsure, your provider can evaluate your symptoms and health history. The treatment is safe, non-surgical, and requires no hormones or downtime.

What is the downtime or recovery like?

There’s virtually no downtime after the O-Shot®. Most women return to work, errands, or even intimacy the same day. Some may experience mild swelling, tingling, or light spotting, which typically resolves within 24–48 hours.

It’s recommended to avoid tampons or hot tubs for a day or two. Exercise and sexual activity can resume as tolerated. Any unusual symptoms should be reported, but side effects are rare. Always follow your provider’s aftercare instructions for optimal healing.

How does PRP work in intimate wellness?

PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is derived from your own blood and contains powerful growth factors that stimulate cellular regeneration. When injected into vaginal tissues, it promotes collagen production, increased blood flow, and tissue healing. This improves sensitivity, lubrication, and orgasm quality.

PRP also supports urethral strength to help with bladder control. Because it’s all-natural and drug-free, PRP poses minimal risk of allergic reaction. It’s a regenerative approach to intimate health, perfect for those looking for non-hormonal, long-term solutions.

The O-Shot® will be available at The Face Institute starting Summer 2025. If you are interested in learning more about this treatment or want to be added to our waiting list, contact us today.
