No, hyaluronidase does not degrade your natural collagen or elastin. It is formulated to target only hyaluronic acid-based fillers and leaves the rest of your facial structure untouched. Some patients may notice temporary dryness or slight thinning in the treated area due to reduced HA levels, but this typically resolves within a couple of weeks. 

As your body regenerates its own hyaluronic acid, skin hydration and elasticity naturally improve. Proper aftercare and hydration support faster recovery. For long-term skin health, we may also recommend pairing your treatment with topical skincare or collagen-stimulating therapies.

Mild and temporary side effects are possible, including redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site. These symptoms usually subside within 24 to 48 hours. In rare cases, minor lumps or unevenness may occur, which we can correct during your follow-up. Hyaluronidase only works on hyaluronic acid (HA)-based fillers like Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Belotero®. It will not dissolve non-HA fillers such as Radiesse® or Sculptra®, which require different treatment protocols.
