Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are procedures which superficially remove the damaged upper layers of the skin. This stimulates skin cell regeneration giving the skin a fresher, younger appearance. Chemical peels are generally prescribed as a series of individual treatments and combined with other treatments for the best results.

The treatment begins with a rigorous cleansing of the skin to remove all oils. A peeling agent, which consists of a cocktail of various acids, is then applied evenly to the entire area. Multiple layers may be applied depending on the client's sensitivity and skin condition. A small amount of tingling may be felt as the acids neutralize. Old cells are killed and new cells begin to grow to take their place. After treatment, it is very important to cover treated areas with sunscreen, and to avoid long term sun exposure for months afterward.
